We checked out of the Carlton Arms Hotel for the last time this morning.
We had a lot of time to kill before the big event, so we walked around the city for a few hours looking at cool churches and picking up stray Christmas Trees.
Around three o'clock we headed towards Chinatown and had some dinner there. As we walked around some more, we found this ice cream store that had really good ice cream. (Note to Sueying: They had the best mint chocolate chip ice cream I've ever had.)
After that, we decided that it was time to head over towards Times Square. The blocks were already surrounded by police barricade.
We had heard that the Soup Nazi (of Seinfeld fame) was located a few blocks away. When we got there, though, it was closed.
Well, the cops kept piling up outside, and we were freezing our toes off, so we spent about 3 hours in McDonald's keeping ourselves entertained.

About an hour till midnight, we walked outside and the city was
packed!
